date night

2011. A new year, a time to change what has not been working, and embrace what has been successful! During the course of a relationship things become routine. It is very easy to start to take your husband/boyfriend for granted. A few ideas to kickstart the romance with your bestfriend:

  • Incorporate date nights into your "busy" routine. After long days of work or school, a night with your best friend is just what you need!
  • movie night! For example, I am a huge movie buff! Trying to get the boyfriend to watch Casablanca with me is like pulling teeth... SO, I find a compromise. I let him share a movie he truly loves with me, and I share my movie I love with him. (Plus you get that much needed cuddle time)
  • the local park! Feeding the ducks and walking the track, a nice way to end a stressful day. Also a game of one on one basketball!
  • The watering hole! Shoot some pool, throw back a few drinks and let loose!
  • Ice skating/roller blading! Make it a competition!
  • Build something together, or work on house projects together!
  • Learn to cook a new meal together
  • casino night! (My boyfriend and I drove from Houston to Louisianna to gamble! A new experience for the both of us!)

My Fun Date Night :

***Ice Skating! Before you roll your eyes, or lean back in the chair with a loud sigh... let me explain. My boyfriend and I have gone through several ups and downs over the course of our relationship. We are a young couple, with a high stress level. One day we were talking about things we hadn't done, or hadn't done in a LONG time. Ice skating- a first for the both of us. We decided to go the following weekend, prepared ourselves with a camera (in case the other should fall), looked up an outdoor skating rink (even in Houston, TX) and our ice skating adventure began. My boyfriend took to it like he had been ice skating his whole life! I screamed the whole time. My legs did not move, and I laughed harder than I had in a very long time. He pulled me through the other ice skaters most of the time. My 6 foot boyfriend, dragging his 5 foot clumsy girlfriend. We recaptured something that night. We had fun, and even though there were other people, it was all about us. After iceskating, we strolled through downtown, taking pictures and holding hands! It truly was an amazing date!

Let's hear some great date ideas ladies! We are always up for something new!
